Social Media Breakfast Chicago is an event where moderators lead small-group discussions over breakfast on a series of social media topics.

While the moderator will lead the discussion, the goal of breaking into small groups is to encourage everyone to participate by debating, asking questions, and contributing to the conversation. The event is open to anyone hoping to gain a better understanding of social media.

Choose From One of the Following Workshops:

Table 1: Beyond Social: Spreading your Digital Wings

Blagica Bottigliero, Senior Account Supervisor & Manager, Emerging Media & Measurement, Edelman Digital

Recent studies have shown that spending on online advertising will continue to increase sharply.  If you are working on any component of a social media campaign for a brand, having a holistic understanding of how online advertising works will serve the campaign.  In this session, we'll explain why.  For example, an increase in Twitter followers or website traffic may be the direct result of an online advertising buy.  We'll discuss how to track these behaviors and put the resulting analysis to work for your brand.

Table 2: Measuring Customer Activation and Brand Loyalty with Social Media Data.
Kimberly Chulis, Founding Partner, Core Analytics, LLC

Using text-mining and advanced analytics, this case study shows how a social media data mart is constructed using raw comment data from social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Blogs and YouTube, and how demographic, preference, mood and specific activation variables are mined from the comment data.

Predictive modeling identifies key customer activations in social media that lead to higher levels of brand loyalty.  This case study details the step-by-step process using the BrandMeter(TM) solution suite and shows loyalty outcomes in a social media competitive analysis scenario using actual super market data.

Table 3: Moderating Online Communities
Jessi Odenbach, Community Moderator, Critical Mass

No matter if your online community has begun organically or if you had to start it yourself it is important to engage that community. We'll talk about establishing social media governance, a moderator's presence, growth and an exit plan. In this session we will also discuss how monitoring and moderation tools can present opportunities.

Table 4: Best Practices in Facebook Marketing
Bryan Person, Social Media Evangelist, LiveWorld, Inc.

In a roundtable discussion led by LiveWorld's Bryan Person, we'll dig into critical Facebook questions staring down marketers today:

  • Is Facebook a viable channel for building online community?
  • What kind of content is appropriate for Facebook Pages?
  • How should a business respond when its Facebook Page is "attacked" or flooded with negative comments?
  • How can brands connect customers from their Facebook Pages to their corporate website and the rest of the social web?
